Mark Harborth

Originally hailing from Texas, Mark currently resides in vibrant New York City, nurturing his lifelong passion for theatre. With an unwavering dedication to directing, he boasts nearly four decades of invaluable experience as a Producer, Director, Stage Manager and Designer. Mark places utmost importance on the power of storytelling, diligently striving to convey the writer's message to audiences through the seamless collaboration of actors and designers,

 

Mark's career as a versatile freelance director showcases an impressive repertoire, including notable regional productions such as Hello Dolly, Jesus Christ Superstar, High Spirits, Chicago, Children of a Lesser God, Sweeney Todd, Pirates of Penzance, and many  others. His talents extend beyond linguistic barriers, having successfully directed touring productions in German, Spanish, French and Yiddish.

 

Most recently, Mark assumed the esteemed position of Producing Artistic Director at one of Brooklyn's oldest Equity Showcase theaters. Under his visionary leadership, he spearheaded numerous critically acclaimed productions including Ragtime, Dreamgirls, Gypsy, Evita, Rent, It Shoulda Been You, A Few Good Men, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Chess, Run For Your Wife, among others. A respected member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, Mark brings a wealth of expertise to the stage, drawing from his prior affiliation as a member  of Actors' Equity.
